This landmark study is the first federally funded, on-going national project. It is designed to better understand the aging, health, and well-being of LGBTQ+ midlife and older adults and their families. Nearly 2,500 LGBTQ+ adults have been participating since 2014, and researchers are currently inviting new participants to join Aging with Pride: NHAS. 

The goal of this study is to deepen our understanding of how various life experiences of LGBTQ+ midlife and older adults are related to changes in health and aging over time. 

Sharing your experiences and needs will significantly contribute to identifying the communities’ strengths and challenges, with the hope of improving overall health and well-being, both now and for generations to come. So sign up today and let your voice be heard!

• Participants will be compensated $25 for participating in this study. (Compensation will only be provided to eligible participants who complete the study.)
• Participants will be contributing valuable information that may benefit their community in the future.
• Participants will be helping to advance research and practice aimed at achieving health equity for the LGBTQ+ community.

• If you decide to participate in the study and later feel that you no longer wish to be part of it, you can withdraw at any time.
• Any information that you provide will be kept strictly confidential, except as required by law.

• Must be born between 1965 and 1971 (turning 53 – 59 in the year 2024)
• Must either identify as LGBTQ+ or have had a romantic and/or sexual attraction or sexual relationship with someone of the same sex/gender

The details of the study will be provided in full on the survey cover page, but some details are:

• The eligibility online screener questionnaire takes less than 5 minutes to complete.
• If eligible for this study, participants may choose to complete the study questionnaire either online, by mail, or by phone. 
• The study questionnaire will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. 
• During participation in this innovative project, participants will be asked to complete a study questionnaire every other year.
