Background

Having asthma can be demanding and for those who struggle with being overweight as well, together this can be a real challenge. In the United States, 11% of adults who have a higher body weight also suffer from asthma. With more people becoming affected, it is becoming relevant to learn more about how increased body weight affects asthma.

Researchers are seeking new methods to improve the treatment for overweight adults who also have asthma. This study is exploring if an oral treatment can potentially help manage asthma in adults with an increased body weight. This oral treatment aims to alleviate weight-related airway hyperreactivity.

This study seeks participants aged 18 to 65 years old who are diagnosed with asthma for at least 4.5 months and are struggling with being overweight. Participants must attend 3 to 8 study visits at the research site for over 18 weeks. Compensation up to $1,195 for participation is available.
