Skin Health Study Seeks Interested Participants

Research Center: Queensland Institute of Dermatology
Location: Ground floor, 10 Browning St, South Brisbane, Australia 4101
Lead Researcher: Dr. Rowland Noakes
HREC: This study has been reviewed and approved by the Ramsay Health Care QLD Human Research Ethics Committee

Background

Narrowband UVB phototherapy is an effective therapy used for psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, vitiligo, pruritus and several other conditions. Further, not many patients who may benefit from it are capable of accessing this therapy as treatment requires a special kind of equipment that may be only available within major centers.

Researchers are seeking other ways to help those with skin conditions by replicating Narrowband UVB therapy through alternative means. This research study is assessing the effectiveness of natural sunlight and a topical lotion containing natural products, such as amino acids, in helping those with eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo and pruritus

Interested participants 18 years old or older who have either eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo or pruritus. Participants must be willing to comply with the study requirements.
