About the Study

What if there were a way to better manage moderate-to-severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS)? Researchers are exploring a new investigational study drug called Eltrekibart to see if it can help. The goal of this study is to understand how safe Eltrekibart is and whether it works better than a placebo for people living with HS. By participating, individuals may contribute to research that could pave the way for new investigational treatment options.

The study will compare the effects of Eltrekibart with a placebo to see if it reduces symptoms like painful lumps and inflammation. While the investigational treatment may not directly benefit participants right away, their involvement will provide valuable insights that could shape future HS therapies. Researchers hope this study will bring us closer to safer and more effective options for managing this condition.

Interested? Take the questionnaire to see if you qualify.

Why Participate?

  • Participants may receive a new potential investigational treatment for hidradenitis suppurativa at no cost. They will be randomly assigned to take the study investigational study drug or a placebo.
  • Participants will be compensated for their participation in this study. Compensation will only be provided to eligible participants who complete each study visit.
  • Participants may experience improvements in hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) symptoms.
  • Participants will be contributing valuable information that may benefit those with hidradenitis suppurativa in the future.
  • Participants will be helping to advance medical research.

Your Rights

  • If you decide to participate in the study and later feel that you no longer wish to be part of it, you can withdraw at any time.
  • Any information that you provide will be kept strictly confidential, except as required by law.
  • Qualified health professionals will monitor your health as it relates to the study.

Who Can Participate?

  • Men and women aged 18 – 75 who are diagnosed with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) for at least 12 months
  • Must not have had an inadequate response or intolerance to a 28-day course of oral antibiotics before screening
  • Must not have allergies to medications, strong reactions to steroid creams, or severe allergic reactions after treatment
  • Must not have had a serious medical condition affecting your heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, stomach, hormones, blood, or nervous system that could:
    • Affect how your body handles medication,
    • Pose a risk if you participate in the study
    • Make it hard to understand the study results
  • Must not have had poor results from treating hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) with more than two different medications, whether they were the main or backup treatments
  • Must not have donated blood in the last 4 weeks
  • Must be able to attend 26 study visits at the research site over approximately 52 weeks

More Study Details

The study team will explain the research in its entirety but some details are:

  • Participants will be asked to provide their health history, report any medications they take, and sign a consent form to ensure they meet study requirements.
  • Participants will be asked to follow the study treatment plan, which includes receiving subcutaneous injections every 2 weeks, using specific topical antiseptics on affected areas, and adhering to specific rules for antibiotics if applicable.
  • Participants will be asked to use devices (e.g., tablets or smartphones) to report data, return these devices after the study, and comply with all study procedures for up to 16 months.
