Participate in this study to help shape future approaches to symptom management and well-being.

Why Participate?
- Participants will be compensated for participating in this study. Compensation will only be provided to eligible participants who complete the study.
- Participants will be contributing valuable information that may benefit cancer survivors in the future.
- Participants will be helping to advance medical research.
Your Rights
- If you decide to participate in the study and later feel that you no longer wish to be part of it, you can withdraw at any time.
- Any information that you provide will be kept strictly confidential, except as required by law.
- Qualified health professionals will monitor your health as it relates to the study.
Who Can Participate?
- Men & Women aged 18+ who have completed cancer treatment within the last 3 years.
- Must not be planning to have any treatment soon (except for maintenance therapy such as hormonal therapy)
- Must not currently have any evidence of cancer
- Must live in a rural area to enroll and participate (except for male participants, who can enroll regardless of their residence)
- Must not be engaged in regular counseling or psychotherapy
- Must have a family member or friend to enroll with for this study
- Must have access to a telephone
- Must be able to participate in study calls over approximately 24 weeks
More Study Details
The study team will explain the research in its entirety but some details are:
- Participants will be asked to complete three telephone calls, each 35-45 minutes long, to discuss well-being and symptoms, with calls at the start, week 17, and week 24.
- Participants will be divided into either the intervention (Group A) or the control (Group B). Group A will be asked to receive weekly 10-15 minute calls for 8-16 weeks to discuss symptom management and use the Symptom Management and Survivorship Handbook. They may also receive additional counseling calls.
- Participants in Group B will be asked to receive weekly 10-minute calls for 16 weeks to discuss symptoms and use the National Cancer Institute publication, Facing Forward: Life After Cancer Treatment in either English or Spanish (your preferred language).
