About the Study

As we age, concerns about memory loss and cognitive decline become increasingly common. This study offers a simple blood test to detect an abnormal protein associated with Alzheimer’s disease in adults aged 65 to 80.

The majority of participants (about 96%) will not have this abnormal protein and will not progress further in the study. For those who do, the study is trialling an investigational medication designed to target protein plaques in the brain, which are believed to impact memory and overall brain function. This research could offer valuable insights into preventing memory loss and improving quality of life for older adults.

Interested? Take our questionnaire and find out if this study is right for you.

Why Participate

  • Participants will get a no-cost blood test to learn if they have the abnormal protein associated with Alzheimer’s.
  • Participants may receive a new study medication for early Alzheimer’s at no cost. They will be randomly assigned to 1 of 2 treatment groups and will have an equal chance of receiving either the study medication or a placebo (a placebo looks like the study medication but contains no active medication).
  • Participants will be compensated for study-related travel.
  • The study medication may delay the symptoms of early Alzheimer’s Disease.
  • Participants will be contributing valuable information that may benefit those with Alzheimer’s in the future.
  • Participants will be helping to advance medical research.

Your Rights

  • If you decide to participate in the study and later feel that you no longer wish to be part of it, you can withdraw at any time.
  • Any information that you provide will be kept strictly confidential, except as required by law.
  • Qualified health professionals will monitor your health as it relates to the study.

Who Can Participate?

  • Individuals aged 65-80 who may be worried about memory problems or Alzheimer’s symptoms
  • Participants can have a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease however they cannot have significant memory impairment.
  • Individuals aged 65-80 who have a family history of Alzheimer’s Disease.

More Study Details

The study team will explain the research in its entirety but the first steps are:

  • Phone call with the study team.
  • Participants will get a no-cost blood test to learn if they have the abnormal protein associated with Alzheimer’s Disease.
