Background

Cannabis use disorder (CUD) is a common problem in the United States, and more Americans than ever have been diagnosed with it. CUD can have a large and negative impact on health and quality of life. Due to the increase in incidence of CUD and the negative health and quality of life effects, there has been an increase in the number of folks with CUD who are seeking treatment and studies have shown that cannabis reduction or cessation can reverse these negative health and quality of life effects..

Currently, there is no approved medication for those with CUD and healthcare professionals have few options to offer those with CUD who are trying to reduce the amount of cannabis they use. . This study is investigating the effectiveness of a treatment called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) that is currently FDA approved and is commonly used to treat depression, OCD, and smoking cessation if medications are not helpful. Researchers are interested in understanding if by treating people who have CUD with rTMS can reduce cannabis (marijuana) use and craving and impact how the brain responds to cannabis-related images.

This study seeks adults aged 18 to 65 years old who use marijuana on a daily basis, and are interested in reducing the amount of marijuana they use or stop marijuana altogether.Participants must attend 24 study site visits over approximately 4 months.
