Researchers Explore Potential Treatment For Eczema

Background

 

It is estimated that eczema affects 35 million Americans. From that number, about 1-3% are adults and 10-20% are children. Around 60% of infants who have eczema will have one or more symptoms present until adulthood.

Researchers are investigating a potential treatment for people suffering from eczema. 

Adults aged 18 years old and above who have been diagnosed with eczema for at least a year are invited to participate in a study. Participants are required to attend all study visits at the research site and will be compensated for their participation. 

Why Participate? 

 

  • You may experience an improvement in your eczema.
  • You may be able to better manage your eczema symptoms.
  • You may get up to $75 per study visit to cover your expenses.
  • You will be helping to advance medical research.

Your Rights

 

  • If you decide to participate in a study and later feel that you no longer wish to be part of it, you may withdraw at any time.
  • Your records relating to a study and any other information received will be kept strictly confidential, except as required by the law.
  • Qualified health professionals will monitor your health as it relates to the study.

Who Can Participate?

 

  • Adults aged 18 years old and above who suffer from eczema for at least a year. 
  • Must have eczema that covers 10% of the body in total (please note that the surface of the palm of your hand is equivalent to 1% of your total body surface).
  • Able to attend all study visits at the research site.
