Background
Dengue fever is a highly prevalent illness found mainly in tropical countries in Asia, Latin America, and the Western Pacific. The infection spreads through mosquito bites. The mosquitoes that transmit the dengue virus are Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus.
Since there is currently no treatment available for dengue virus infection, prevention is an important strategy to fight the spread of the disease. Despite this fact, there is only one vaccine available for its prevention.
For this reason, investigators at the CMAX Clinical Research in Adelaide are conducting a study on an investigational vaccine against dengue virus infection. The study seeks healthy men and women. Participants are required to attend 9 study visits at the research site over a 7-month period.
