Background

While stress is a natural reaction in our body to cope with the demand of the situation at hand, it has become a major contributor to chronic disease in today’s ever-changing world.

Researchers are attempting to understand how stress can impact our body including its ability to repair DNA damage in the blood cells. They are also exploring an FDA-approved medication (commonly used to treat high blood pressure) to see if it can influence an individual’s response to stress.
