Background
We know exercise can contribute to good health. However do we know exactly why it can improve our health? Until this point, there has not been a clear understanding of what actually is happening deep within the body, or how the molecular structure of the body changes to improve and preserve health.
Having a better understanding of how the body changes with physical activity will help researchers and clinicians to better prescribe and tailor exercise programming in the future.
The purpose of this research study is to learn about how exercise benefits health. We know that being physically active is good for our health, but we don’t completely understand how it changes the cells in our bodies. Understanding the cellular benefits of exercise could help scientists develop new treatments and improve health care advice in the future.
This research study seeks adults 18+ who currently do not regularly exercise. Participants are required to attend up to 14 study visits at the research site over a 6 month period as well as potentially take part in exercise sessions which will be held 3x a week for 12 weeks.
