Background

Millions of people suffer from depression daily. Many people with depression find that antidepressants alone can’t adequately address all of their symptoms.

This study is evaluating an investigational drug designed to work in tandem with antidepressants to see if it might help improve unresolved symptoms of depression. The medication is a tablet that dissolves under the tongue.

This study seeks men and women between the ages of 18 & 70 who currently suffer from major depressive disorder for more than 8 weeks, but less than 5 years. Participants will be randomised and will receive either the experimental drug or the placebo, there is a 50 percent chance that a participant will receive either the experimental drug or placebo. Participants are required to attend 14 to 20 study visits at the research site over a 5 month period, and could experience an improvement in depression symptoms.
