About the Study

Why do stroke outcomes differ for African American and Black men? Stroke is a leading cause of disability and death in the U.S., with African Americans facing higher risks and more severe outcomes. African American and Black men experience strokes at younger ages, with greater disability and slower recovery compared to their non-Hispanic white counterparts. High rates of hypertension, diabetes, smoking, obesity, and social stressors contribute to these disparities.

The TEAM2 psychoeducational program aims to address these issues. This research study focuses on reducing stroke rates and complications in African American and Black men who have had strokes or TIAs. Through education and support, TEAM2 seeks to improve recovery and health outcomes. Join us in learning more about how we can make a difference.
