Trial Examining Reduction of Flu Symptoms & Improved Recovery Time

Brisbane Northside Emergency is participating in a worldwide study.  The purpose of this study is to test a potential new treatment for the flu.

Participants who experience flu like symptoms such as fever, cough, tiredness, stuffy nose, sore throat or headache will receive medical care and study procedures are free of charge. Eligible participants will receive $310 at the completion of the study.

Benefits of Participation

  • The study drug may possibly reduce flu-like symptoms & the time you are unwell with the flu.
  • Qualified medical professionals will supervise your care.
  • You will be helping to advance medical research.

Your Rights

  • If you decide to participate in the study and later feel that you no longer wish to be part of it, you may withdraw at any time.
  • Your records relating to this study and any other information received will be kept strictly confidential.
  • Upon completion, the results of the study will be shared with you.

Who Can Participate?

  • Males and Females ages 13 to 65.
  • Experiencing flu like symptoms.
  • Are able to attend the research centre on multiple occasions.
