- Any information that you provide will be kept strictly confidential, except as required by law.
- Qualified health professionals will monitor your health as it relates to the study.
Who Can Participate?
- Men and women aged 18-64 who have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes for 6 or more months
- Must be able to read, write, and speak in English or Spanish
- Must not be breastfeeding, pregnant, or planning to get pregnant in the next 12 months
- Must not have had a psychiatric hospitalization within the past 6 months
- Must not be currently participating in a clinical trial
- Must be able and willing to participate in the study virtually for approximately 12 months
More Study Details
The study team will explain the research in its entirety but some details are:
- Participants will be asked to sign a Preliminary Screening Consent Form to agree to the screening process and diagnostic interview, as the first screening step.
- Participants will be asked to complete the Universal Screening Questionnaire to determine basic eligibility for either study and a diabetes distress survey (“PAID”) before the diagnostic interview stage.
- Participants will be asked to schedule and undergo a diagnostic interview via Zoom with study staff to assess for co-morbid psychological conditions, which will determine their eligibility for The ReDUCe Study (diabetes distress) or The UP Study (anxiety and depression) or exclusion from both studies.
