Location: This is a nationwide virtual study
Lead Researcher: Prof. Richard Byrant
HREC: This study has been reviewed and approved by the UNSW Human Research Ethics Committee
About the Study
Step forward and join a pioneering study dedicated to understanding the complexities of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Researchers are seeking individuals to join an innovative study that delves deep into the diverse expressions of PTSD.
The Traumatic Stress Clinic is looking at identifying different types of PTSD by identifying ways in which people with PTSD express emotions. By participating in this study, you could help researchers better equip themselves to identify PTSD and potentially help other veterans. Join this study now!
Why Participate?
- Participants will be compensated up to $105 in vouchers for participating in the first part of this study. Compensation will only be provided to eligible participants who complete the study.
- Participants will be contributing valuable information that may benefit other veterans with PTSD in the future.
- Participants will be helping to advance medical research.
Your Rights
- If you decide to participate in the study and later feel that you no longer wish to be part of it, you can withdraw at any time.
- Any information that you provide will be kept strictly confidential, except as required by law.
- Qualified health professionals will monitor your health as it relates to the study.

More Study Details
The study team will explain the research in its entirety but some details are:
- Participants will be required to complete a 2-hour session with a psychologist via Zoom or Teams
- Participants will be required to complete some questionnaires about their mood and will be interviewed by a clinician about their trauma experience and potential PTSD symptom
- Participants may then be contacted 6 months later to complete the survey again
