About the Study


Young adults may engage in behaviors that increase their risk of cancer. This study is researching ways to reduce these behaviors by delivering health messages through social media.

Participants of this study will join a private Facebook group where health tips and information will be shared. You’ll complete a few surveys and can earn up to $135 for your time. Help researchers better understand how to lower cancer risk. Sign up today and make a difference!

Your Rights


  • You will receive a detailed outline of all details of the study, including treatment, risks, and procedures, and you will be given the chance to ask study staff questions before you decide whether to participate.

  • Your records relating to this study and any other information received will be kept strictly confidential, except as required by the law.

Who Can Participate?


  • People aged 18–26
  • Must live in a rural area in the United States
  • Must use Facebook at least once every few weeks
  • Must be able to speak and read English
  • Must be willing to join a private group on Facebook
  • Must be willing to accept occasional texts and phone calls from study staff
    • Texts will occur approximately once per month
    • Phone calls will only occur if the study staff is unable to reach a participant in other ways
