About the Study
Have you ever experienced a panic attack or been diagnosed with panic disorder? If so, you may be interested in a new research study investigating the safety and effectiveness of a potential new treatment for panic disorder. This study is testing an experimental medication combining two known, approved medications.
This study seeks to determine whether this potential new medication can help individuals manage their panic symptoms. By joining, participants can contribute to valuable research that may pave the way for improved treatments for panic disorder and related conditions. Your mental health is important—see if this study could be right for you.

Who Can Participate?
- Men and women aged 18-65 who are diagnosed with panic disorder or who have had experience with panic attacks and think they may have panic disorder
- Individuals who experience regular unexpected panic attacks (an unexpected panic attack is a panic attack that doesn’t have a trigger. It comes on out of the blue—that is, in situations where you didn’t expect to feel nervous or uncomfortable)
- Individuals can not be taking benzodiazepines (e.g Alprazolam, Diazepam, Oxazepam, Temazepam, Clonazepam, Lorazepam)
- Individuals can not have a diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or severe agoraphobia
- Participants need to be able to attend 6 study visits at a mental health clinic in Frankston over 14 weeks.
More Study Details
The study team will explain the research in its entirety but some details include:
- This is a placebo-controlled study and may not be of any benefit to individuals.
- Participants will be asked to provide informed consent, medical history, and demographic information and undergo an eligibility assessment.
- Participants will undergo assessments of their physical and mental health, physical examinations, blood and urine tests, and ECGs.
- Participant’s physical and mental health will be monitored throughout the study.
- Study team will provide feedback to your GP.
