About the Study
Pregnancy can be a beautiful – and sometimes challenging – journey, especially with twins on the way. Researchers are inviting women who are 16 weeks pregnant or earlier with twins to take part in a research study exploring ways to help expectant mothers stay healthy and feel their best during pregnancy.
By joining, you’ll play an important role in learning how to support twin pregnancies while receiving guidance and support from a dedicated research team. If you’re ready to take positive steps for you and your babies, learn more about how you can get involved today.
Why Participate?
- Participants may feel better during pregnancy.
- Participants may experience improvements in symptoms associated with twin pregnancy.
- Participants will be contributing valuable information that may benefit those experiencing a twin pregnancy in the future.

Your Rights
- You will receive a detailed outline of all details of the study, including risks and procedures, and you will be given the chance to ask study staff questions before you decide whether to participate.
- If you decide to participate in the study and later feel that you no longer wish to be part of it, you can withdraw at any time
- Your records relating to this study and any other information received will be kept strictly confidential, except as required by law.
Eligibility Requirements
Who Can Participate:
- Must be a healthy woman aged 18–40
- Must be equal to or less than 16 weeks pregnant
- Must be able to attend 2-3 visits per week at the research center over 6 months
Who Cannot Participate:
- Must not have pre-existing chronic conditions such as HIV, lupus, diabetes, untreated hypertension, uncontrolled thyroid conditions, or cardiovascular disease
- Must not use tobacco, alcohol, recreational drugs, or medicines that may affect fetal development
Study Process
The study team will explain the research in its entirety, but some details include:
- After consent, there are 2 enrollment visits for baseline measures
- Once a letter from your obstetric provider is received, you will be randomized to an activity group.
- The study team will meet with you regularly during the study period to conduct research activities designed to be safe during pregnancy.
