About the Study
Are you interested in understanding how the use of tobacco and cannabis together affects your health? Whether it’s smoked, vaped, or consumed, your experiences using tobacco and cannabis can provide invaluable insights and potentially help others!
Researchers from the TAC Study at the University of Illinois Chicago are looking for participants to better understand the behavioral and neurocognitive consequences of this co-use. Your participation is more than just a contribution to science; it’s a step towards creating better health policies and interventions. Who Can Participate?
- Individuals 18-35 years of age who use both tobacco and cannabis
- Must reside in the Chicago metro area
- Must regularly smoke tobacco or e-cigarettes within the past month
- Must use cannabis within the past month
- Must be able to attend 2 study visits at the research site over approximately 12 months
More Study Details
The TAC Study team will explain the research in its entirety, but some details are:
- Participants will be required to complete interviews with the study team, involving questions related to the types of products they use to consume tobacco/nicotine and cannabis, as well as their history and experience with tobacco/nicotine and cannabis.
- Participants will be asked to carry a study-provided smartphone, referred to as an electronic diary (ED) for a 7-day period.
- Participants will be required to complete an email/text survey every two weeks, which asks participants how much tobacco and cannabis they have used within the previous 14 days. These surveys will take about 1 to 2 minutes to complete.
