Background
Approximately 85% of people with Type 2 Diabetes are obese or overweight. Excess weight can make treatment of diabetes very difficult.
This research study is investigating whether certain combinations of FDA-approved diabetes medications can lead to both reduced blood sugar levels and weight loss.
Men and women who have Type 2 Diabetes and are currently taking metformin (e.g. Glucophage, Glumetza, Glucophage XR, Fortamet) or Janumet with, or without, additional diabetic medications. Participants are required to attend about 9 study visits at the research site over 5 – 6 months. Participants will be paid $450 for attending site visits.

Who Can Participate?
- Men and women aged 18 – 65 years old
- Have Type 2 Diabetes, and struggle to control it
- Are currently taking metformin (e.g. Glucophage, Glumetza, Glucophage XR, Fortamet) or Janumet with, or without, additional diabetic medications.
- Able to attend 9 study visits at the research site over 5 – 6 months
