Research Studies Seek Men & Women With COPD

Background


As the third leading cause of death in the United States, COPD affects the lives of more than 11 million Americans, with symptoms worsening overtime.

With currently no cure, researchers are exploring how to better treat those living with COPD.

Men and women aged 40 years or older who are currently experiencing symptoms or diagnosed with moderate to severe COPD are invited to participate. Participants are required to attend 6 clinic visits over 2-3 months.

Benefits of Participation

  • You may experience an improvement in your COPD symptoms
  • You will receive a minimum of $50 per visit with a total reimbursement of up to $750
  • You may be eligible for transport to and from the research site
  • You will be helping to advance medical research.

Your Rights

  • If you decide to participate in the study and later feel that you no longer wish to be part of it, you may withdraw at any time.
  • Your records relating to this study and any other information received will be kept strictly confidential, except as required by the law.
  • Qualified health professionals will monitor your health as it relates to the study.

Who Can Participate?

  • Men and women aged 40 or older
  • Have not been diagnosed with asthma
  • Currently diagnosed with COPD
  • Currently uses a bronchodilator or rescue inhaler*
  • Current or former smoker
  • Able to attend 6 study visits at the research site over approximately 2-3 months

*If you do not currently have an inhaler, inhalers are available for purchase at the study site, however please note this is not a cost that will be covered by the study.
