Are you a healthy postmenopausal woman interested in nutrition and wellness?

Researchers are seeking volunteers for a study investigating a milk bioactive nutritional supplement, and its potential benefits for women’s health. Your participation could help uncover valuable insights that benefit women everywhere.

Why Participate?


  • Participants may experience increases in muscle strength and balance.
  • Participants will receive a free Fitbit to be used during the study.
  • Participants will be reimbursed for travel.
  • Participants will receive a free health screen at Medlab as well as body composition analyses.
  • Participants will be contributing valuable information that may benefit women in the future.
  • Participants will be helping to advance medical research.

Your Rights


  • If you decide to participate in the study and later feel that you no longer wish to be part of it, you can withdraw at any time.
  • Any information that you provide will be kept strictly confidential, except as required by law.
  • Qualified health professionals will monitor your health as it relates to the study.

Who Can Participate?


  • Healthy women aged 50-80
  • Must be postmenopausal (no menstrual period for at least 12 months)
  • Must consider themselves to be in good general health
  • Must have a BMI between 20kg/m² and 35kg/m²
  • Must not smoke cigarettes
  • Must not engage in heavy drinking
  • Must not have a diagnosis or history of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, cancer, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, or liver disease
  • Must not have a milk allergy or lactose intolerance
  • Must be able to attend the research centre for 3 study visits over approximately 3 months

More Study Details


The study team will explain the research in its entirety but some details are:

  • Participants must complete online or paper questionnaires at weeks 0, 6, and 12, and record a 3-day diet log at week 11.
  • Participants must consume the provided Milk Bioactive or placebo daily for 12 weeks and take the last dose 24 hours before the final assessment.
  • Participants will be expected to undertake a light exercise programme for 12 weeks during the study and must attend a final lab visit after 12 weeks to repeat all baseline measures.
