Lead Doctor: Sharon Chinthrajah, MD
IRB Committee: This study has been reviewed and approved by Stanford Institutional Review Board

Background

Approximately 25 million Americans have asthma. Researchers are seeking new methods to improve the treatment of asthma, specifically daily treatment to potentially lower asthma exacerbations for those who struggle with symptoms.

This study is exploring if an oral treatment can help prevent inflammation and other symptoms caused by asthma such as wheezing and shortness of breath. Researchers hope to understand if this treatment can be used in addition to standard of care treatment for asthma.

This study seeks participants aged 12+ who are currently diagnosed with asthma and are currently on a stable dose of an inhaled steroid. Participants are required to attend 9 study visits at the research site over a 4 month period and will be compensated for their time and travel.
