Background

The first two years of a baby’s life set the foundation for diets later in life. Previous national nutrition surveys did not include children under two years, therefore information on their diets is limited.

In this study, we would like to find out what children under two years of age are eating and drinking, including infants who are exclusively breastfed and/or formula fed. Our study also aims to find out how today’s diets and feeding practices compare to Australian dietary guidelines.

We are looking for parents or caregivers of babies and children under 24 months of age. You will be asked to complete a telephone-based enrolment interview and keep a food diary for your child for one or two days. Once you’ve finished the food diaries, we will contact you to go through your diary entries and enter them in our software.

Who Can Participate?

• Parents/caregivers of children under 2 years of age without any major health issues.
• Parents/caregivers of infants who are exclusively breastfed and/or formula fed
• Parents/caregivers who can answer questions about the child.
