Background
Osteoporosis occurs when bones slowly lose minerals such as calcium and phosphorus. As a result, bones become brittle and susceptible to fractures, even from a minor bump.
Currently, there is an approved treatment for postmenopausal women with osteoporosis at high risk for fracture in the form of a daily injection. A group of researchers in Texas are evaluating whether it’s possible to safely and effectively deliver an investigational formulation of that drug in the form of a wearable patch.
This research study seeks postmenopausal women who currently suffer from osteoporosis. Participants are required to attend 17 study visits at the research site over a 16-month period and will be compensated up to $1,626 for participating in this study.
