Please note: This trial has finished recruiting and is not accepting new participants.

Study Sponsor: PPS
Research Site Location: Inglewood Imaging Center, 211 N Prairie Ave E, Inglewood, Los Angeles, CA
Principal Investigator: Bradley Schmidt

Background

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) occurs when there is a pinched nerve in the wrist. Symptoms include pain, numbness and tingling in the hand and arm. About 5% of Americans suffer from CTS.

This study is investigating how a non-invasive medical device called “Wrist-Aid” (which looks like a band aid) can be improved to better alleviate symptoms in people with CTS.

This study seeks men and women diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). Participants are required to attend one short study visit at the research site with a follow-up visit scheduled about 5 months later.  Participants will be compensated $100 per visit for participating in this study.

Benefits of Participation

  • You may gain a better understanding of the physiology of your wrist and how it relates to your Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • You may help to improve the medical device and advance Carpal Tunnel Syndrome medical research.

Your Rights

  • If you decide to participate in the study and later feel that you no longer wish to be part of it, you may withdraw at any time.
  • Your records relating to this study and any other information received will be kept strictly confidential, except as required by the law.
  • Qualified health professionals will monitor your health as it relates to the study.

Who Can Participate?

  • Men and women aged 21 – 65 who have been diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)
  • Able to undergo Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Have not had any fractures in the affected wrist
  • Have not had a corticosteroid or cortisone injection into the hand or wrist in the past 6 months
  • Able to attend 2 study visits at the research site over approximately 5 months
