Background
Type 2 Diabetes is the fastest growing chronic disease in Australia and has reached epidemic status. Nearly one in four Australian adults is at risk or has already developed the condition. While symptoms can go unnoticed as the disease develops gradually, approximately one in three people with prediabetes will develop type 2 diabetes.
The School of Medicine and Pharmacology at the Royal Perth Hospital is conducting a research study on protein rich Lupin and its effect on type 2 diabetes.
