Background
Heart failure happens when the heart cannot pump enough blood to other parts of the body. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 6.5 million adults in the United States have heart failure. Researchers have been looking into the possibility of better managing heart failure through digital tools to potentially reduce unnecessary hospitalizations and improve the quality of life.
This study seeks to know if this new potential digital health intervention can motivate healthy behavior changes among older adults with heart failure. Researchers are also hoping to collect information about people using digital tools to better manage heart failure.
Interested participants must be adults aged 45 years old or older who have been diagnosed with heart failure. They must be willing to comply with all the necessary requirements of this virtual study for approximately 24 weeks.
Why Participate?
- You will have access to tools that may better improve your knowledge of heart failure management.
- You may help others who are also diagnosed with heart failure by contributing valuable information.
- You will receive a total of $140 for study completion for participating in this study.
- $25 at the initial visit, $30 at 6 weeks, $35 at 12 weeks, and $50 at 24 weeks. You will be helping to advance medical research.
Your Rights
- If you decide to participate in the study and later feel that you no longer wish to be part of it, you may withdraw at any time.
- Your records relating to this study and any other information received will be kept strictly confidential, except as required by law.
