Who Can Participate?


  • Individuals who are diagnosed with one of the following conditions: asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease [COPD], pulmonary fibrosis, or bronchiectasis
  • Must be able to attend study visits at either the Nedlands or Midland clinics
  • Must not have any unstable medical conditions (e.g., unstable heart disease)
  • Must not be diagnosed with either Hepatitis B or C or HIV
  • Must not be pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant
  • Must not have participated in another clinical trial within the last 2 months
  • Must not have a history of cancer (except skin cancer) within the past year
  • Must not have a history of lung transplantation
  • Must be able to attend a number of study visits at the research site over approximately several (approximately 12-24) months

The study team will explain the research in its entirety but some details are:

  • Participants will be asked to attend study visits at either the Nedlands or Midland clinics
  • Participants must be willing to conduct the procedures outlined for the study
  • Participants may potentially be asked to complete a diary at home as per the study requirements
