Background


Many American children suffer from attention deficit disorder disorder (ADHD) and are unable to control their anger  and aggression towards others.

This research study is being conducted to examine the effectiveness of the study medication (in the form of capsules) in reducing anger and aggression associated with ADHD.

Boys and girls aged 6-12 years old with ADHD, who tend to get angry and/or aggressive easily, are invited to participate.  Participant children are required to attend 7 study visits at the research site over approximately 2 months. There may be compensation up to $420 for the child’s participation in the study.

  • Your child’s anger and aggression symptoms may reduce.
  • You will be compensated for time and travel.
  • Your child will be helping to advance medical research.

Your Rights

  • If you decide to let your child participate in the study and later feel that you no longer wish your child to be part of it, you may withdraw your child from the study at any time.
  • You and your child’s records relating to this study and any other information received will be kept strictly confidential,  unless required by the law.
  • Qualified health professionals will monitor your health as it relates to the study.

Who Can Participate?

  • Boys and girls aged between 6 and 12 years who exhibit symptoms of ADHD and get angry and/or aggressive very easily (such as regularly arguing, screaming, hitting and slamming doors)
  • Already on ADHD treatment
  • Able to visit the research site at NRC Research Institute for 7 study appointments over approximately 2 months.
  • Able to swallow capsules without breaking, cutting, or chewing them first.
